What we collect and why

  • Enquiries: when you use our contact form we receive your name, email address, phone number, the service you're interested in and your message. We use these only to reply to you and, if you ask us to, to prepare a quote. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
  • Security information: your IP address and the time of your request are recorded to protect the form from spam and abuse (our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure).

We do not sell your information, use it for marketing without your permission, or use it for automated decision-making.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
  • If you become a customer, we keep records for as long as needed for the work, guarantees and our legal and tax obligations.
  • Spam-protection records: up to 90 days.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers needed to run this website and email: our web and email hosting provider (Hostinger), who stores the data on our behalf. This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address with them. See Google's privacy policy.

Cookies

We don't use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. The contact page sets one strictly necessary cookie (named bwood, or __Host-bwood on the secure site) which protects the form against forged submissions. It contains no personal information and is deleted when you close your browser. Because it is strictly necessary, no consent banner is required.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email info@bwood.ltd and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
